Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the Bourbon Sauce: In a bowl, combine bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Stir well and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Chicken: In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Combine and Simmer: Pour the bourbon mixture over the chicken and bring it to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  4. Season and Final Touches: Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Spoon the bourbon chicken over fluffy rice and garnish with green onions.

Notes

Browning the chicken properly enhances the flavor. Adjust the red pepper flakes for desired spice level.
