Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, broccoli, and carrots)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Cube the tofu into neat cubes, about an inch in size, and toss with cornstarch.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Sauté the coated tofu cubes until golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Set the crispy tofu aside on a plate.
  5. Sauté the mixed vegetables in the same pan for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Punch it up with minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  7. Combine the tofu back in the pan with soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve hot, optionally over rice or on its own.

Notes

For best results, press the tofu well and do not overcrowd the pan.
