A rich and buttery Kentucky Butter Cake that is dense yet moist, perfect for celebrations or quiet evenings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan thoroughly.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan, spreading evenly.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  10. Create the butter sauce by melting butter in a saucepan, then whisking in sugar and vanilla extract.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an added treat. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
