Delicious carne asada tacos with a burst of smoky flavor, fresh toppings, and lime.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb carne asada (marinated flank or skirt steak)
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 lime (cut into wedges)
  • Salsa (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat your grill to medium-high. Grill the carne asada for about 6-8 minutes per side, depending on how you like it cooked. Let it rest for a few minutes after grilling, allowing those delicious juices to redistribute, making the meat even more tender. Then, slice it into thin strips.
  2. Place the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side until they’re pliable and warm.
  3. Grab your warm tortillas and layer a generous amount of sliced carne asada on each one.
  4. Sprinkle chopped onions and cilantro over the meat. Add some salsa for an extra kick if desired!
  5. Don’t forget to include lime wedges on the side. A squeeze of lime adds brightness that balances the richness of the meat.

Notes

Try marinating your carne asada overnight for even more flavor.
