A comforting bowl of warm rice topped with savory ground beef and aromatic spices, inspired by the vibrant flavors of Korean street food.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch piece ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Cooked rice
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the garlic and ginger: Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Cook the ground beef: Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Add flavorings: Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Let it simmer: Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Serve it up: Serve the beef over cooked rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Perfect for meal prep; leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Adjust spice levels to taste.
