A delightful homemade peach pie bursting with the sweet flavor of ripe peaches, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to get it nice and hot for baking your pie.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, cornstarch, salt, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well to ensure each peach slice is evenly coated.
  3. Fit one pie crust into a pie dish, letting the edges hang over slightly. Fill it generously with the peach mixture, making sure it’s packed with sweet, juicy slices.
  4. Cover the filled pie with the second pie crust. Seal and flute the edges to ensure no filling leaks out during baking.
  5. Brush the top crust with the beaten egg for a beautiful golden brown hue when it’s done baking.
  6. Place the pie in the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling over.
  7. Allow the pie to cool before serving.

Notes
