A whimsical dessert combining sweet and salty flavors with layered cream cheese, Cool Whip, strawberry jello, and fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Cool Whip (or whipped cream), to taste
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels with melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix well until all the pretzels are coated. Press this mixture firmly into a 9×13 inch baking dish to form the crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then remove and let it cool completely.
  2. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the Cool Whip until well-blended. Once your pretzel crust has cooled, spread this luscious cream cheese mixture evenly over the top, creating a decadent layer.
  3. In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry jello in 2 cups of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add in the sliced strawberries and let the mixture cool slightly. Once cooled to room temperature, pour the jello mixture carefully over the cream cheese layer, making sure to cover it completely.
  4. Refrigerate your Strawberry Pretzel Salad for at least 4 hours, or until firm. When you’re ready to serve, cut into squares and enjoy the delightful combination of textures and flavors!
