  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla: Beat in the large egg and stir in the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  5. Fold in the blueberries: Gently fold in the fresh blueberries.
  6. Pour and smooth out the batter: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out.
  7. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon: Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the batter.
  8. Bake to perfection: Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool: Once baked, allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
