  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the fresh blueberries, folding gently.
  5. Whisk together the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and egg in a separate bowl.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Knead the dough gently a few times on a floured surface.
  8. Shape the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into wedges.
  9. Transfer the scones to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly before serving.
