Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the wet mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed.
  6. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets, giving each cookie enough room to spread.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Cool the cookies on wire racks before indulging.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Dough can be frozen for up to three months.
