Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (for coating)
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), allowing it to come to temperature while you prepare the dough.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients: in a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just incorporated.
  6. Prepare the cinnamon sugar coating by mixing the sugar with cinnamon in a small bowl.
  7. Form the cookie dough into balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  8. Roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture until thoroughly coated.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges are set and lightly golden.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Storing cookies in an airtight container keeps them fresh for about a week. Freeze dough balls for up to three months.
