Birria Tacos

Rich and savory Birria Tacos filled with tender meat, served with fresh garnishes for a flavorful experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck or goat meat
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 4 dried guajillo chiles
  • 4 dried ancho chiles
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Corn tortillas
  • Chopped onions and cilantro for garnish
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Soak the dried chiles in hot water until soft, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Blend the chiles with the onion, garlic, cumin, oregano, black pepper, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  3. Sear the meat in a pot over medium-high heat until browned on all sides.
  4. Combine the chile paste with the beef broth in the pot and stir well.
  5. Simmer on low heat, covered, for about 2 hours until the meat is tender.
  6. Shred the meat using two forks and return it to the pot.
  7. Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet for a few seconds on each side.
  8. Fill the tortillas with the birria meat generously.
  9. Garnish with onions, cilantro, and lime wedges before serving.

Notes

Perfect for parties or cozy family dinners. Serve with crispy tortilla chips and guacamole.
