Indulgent homemade chocolate truffles that are rich, creamy, and easy to make using just four basic ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Cocoa powder or melted chocolate for coating

Instructions

  1. Simmering the Cream: In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just starts to simmer. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate and butter, stirring until smooth.
  2. Cooling the Mixture: Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm.
  3. Scooping and Rolling: Use a melon baller or spoon to scoop out small portions of the ganache and roll them into balls.
  4. Coating the Truffles: Roll the truffles in cocoa powder or melted chocolate to coat.
  5. Refrigeration Before Serving: Refrigerate the truffles until ready to serve.

Notes

Store leftover truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
