Delicious and gooey cinnamon rolls perfect for breakfast or dessert, filled with warm buttery dough and a rich cinnamon-sugar filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup icing sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine flour, salt, eggs, melted butter, and the yeast mixture in a large bowl. Knead until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise by covering it with a damp cloth in a warm place for about 60 minutes, until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface and spread melted butter over it.
  5. Add brown sugar and ground cinnamon evenly over the butter-covered dough.
  6. Shape the rolls by rolling the dough tightly from one long side and slicing it into 12 rolls.
  7. Second rise by placing the rolls in a greased baking dish and letting them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Glaze the rolls by mixing icing sugar and milk and drizzling it over the warm rolls.

Notes

Use fresh yeast for best results. Allow enough time for the dough to rise properly.
