Light and airy cream puffs filled with luscious whipped cream, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Melt the butter with water in a saucepan; bring to a vigorous boil.
  3. Add the flour and salt, stirring until the mixture pulls away from the sides.
  4. Cool the mixture for a few minutes after removing from heat.
  5. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, beating until smooth.
  6. Shape tablespoonfuls of the dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Allow the puffs to cool on a wire rack.
  9. Whip the cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  10. Final assembly: Cut the tops off the puffs, fill, and replace the tops.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh on the day they are made. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
