A refreshing homemade Italian ice that’s quick to make and packed with real fruit flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups fruit juice (lemon, strawberry, or any preferred flavor)
  • Lemon zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the sugar: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the water and sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, creating a simple syrup.
  2. Cool the syrup: Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool.
  3. Mix in the fruit juice: Once your syrup has cooled, mix in the fruit juice of your choice and the lemon zest if using.
  4. Freeze and stir: Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and freeze for about 3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
  5. Serve up the goodness: Once fully frozen and fluffy, scoop into cups and serve.

Notes

For vibrant flavors, use fresh fruit juice and consider adding a splash of vanilla extract for depth.
