Delicious Korean beef bowls made with ground beef and a flavorful mixture of soy sauce, garlic, and ginger, served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef: In a skillet, cook 1 lb of ground beef over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Use a spatula to break the meat apart as it cooks.
  2. Flavor the beef: Drain excess fat from the skillet, then add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 2 cloves of minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon of minced ginger. Mix well and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  3. Serve over rice: Spoon the tasty beef mixture generously over 1 cup of cooked rice, ensuring every bite is full of flavor.
  4. Garnish and enjoy: Top your Korean beef bowls with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for that final touch of crunch and flavor. Sit back, serve it up, and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Notes

These bowls can be paired with steamed vegetables or a fresh cucumber salad. Feel free to swap out ground beef for turkey or chicken. Add gochujang or red pepper flakes for spice.
