Strawberry Pretzel Salad

A delightful dessert combining a crunchy pretzel crust with a creamy filling and fresh strawberries, perfect for potlucks and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar in a medium bowl. Press firmly into the bottom of the prepared dish.
  3. Bake the pretzel crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Once baked, let it cool completely.
  4. Beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the thawed whipped topping until well blended.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
  6. Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir in the sliced strawberries and pour the mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Refrigerate the salad for at least 4 hours or until completely set. Serve chilled.

Notes

Taste improves if made a day ahead. Use gluten-free pretzels for a gluten-free option.
