A flavorful homemade beef jerky recipe that captures the essence of road trips and adventure.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (flank steak or top round)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • Optional: red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Mix the marinade in a bowl: combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Marinate the sliced beef in the marinade for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  4. Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C).
  5. Arrange the marinated beef strips on a wire rack over a baking sheet, ensuring space for air circulation.
  6. Dry the beef in the oven for 4-6 hours until it’s dark, chewy, and moisture-free.
  7. Cool the jerky completely before storing it in an airtight container.

Notes

For a spicier version, increase the amount of red pepper flakes. Store in an airtight container for optimal freshness.
