A delightful peach galette that captures the essence of summer, featuring warm, gooey peach filling encased in a flaky crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), allowing it to reach the perfect temperature for baking that flaky crust.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, flour, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Gently mix these ingredients to coat the peaches evenly.
  3. Roll out the pie crust on a baking sheet until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Spoon the peach filling into the center of the rolled-out crust, leaving about a 2-inch border around the edges.
  5. Gently fold the edges of the crust over the peaches, tucking and pleating as you go.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it over the crust. Dot the filling with butter if desired.
  7. Place your galette in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Once baked, remove the galette from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
