A nostalgic and flavorful Greek dish featuring marinated pork skewers served with pita and tzatziki sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pork tenderloin, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread, for serving
  • Tzatziki sauce, for serving
  • Sliced vegetables (optional), for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
  2. Add the cubes of pork tenderloin to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour—ideally overnight—to develop rich flavors.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat, allowing it time to reach the proper temperature for those beautiful grill marks.
  4. Remove the marinated pork from the fridge and thread the cubes onto skewers, leaving a little space between each cube for even cooking.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until the pork is cooked through and has a lovely char on the outside.
  6. Serve the grilled Pork Souvlaki in warm pita bread, topped with creamy tzatziki sauce and your choice of sliced vegetables. Wrap it up, take a bite, and savor the flavors!

Notes

For best flavor, marinate the pork overnight. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
