This Salted Caramel Apple Pie combines juicy apples, warm spices, and a luscious caramel sauce for a nostalgic dessert experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust
  • 6–8 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) to get it nice and hot, perfect for baking that crust golden brown.
  2. Combine the sliced apples, sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and flour in a large bowl. Mix until the apples are well coated.
  3. Place the pie crust in a pie dish and gently pour the apple mixture into the crust, making sure it’s evenly spread. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apples.
  4. Cover the pie with another pie crust or make a lattice top to allow aromas to escape during baking.
  5. Brush the crust with the beaten egg and sprinkle sea salt on top.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes.
  7. Cool the pie before serving to allow the filling to set and flavors to meld.

Notes

Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for the best flavor. Pre-bake the crust briefly to avoid sogginess.
