A simple and elegant one-skillet meal combining tender steak and vibrant asparagus, perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 1 bunch asparagus
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season your steak generously with salt and pepper, then add it to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board.
  4. Add the minced garlic and asparagus to the same skillet and sauté until the asparagus is tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Slice the rested steak into thin strips and serve it over the tender asparagus with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For extra zest, sprinkle red pepper flakes when cooking the asparagus, or drizzle balsamic glaze over the top before serving. Serve with a light salad or creamy mashed potatoes.
