A simple recipe for creating delicious Strawberry Freezer Jam that captures the essence of summer with its sweet and tangy flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, crushed
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 package (1.75 oz) fruit pectin
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sweet Strawberry Base: In a bowl, combine the crushed strawberries and sugar. Let sit for about 10 minutes to allow the sugar to dissolve.
  2. Dissolve the Pectin: In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil and add the fruit pectin, stirring continuously until it dissolves.
  3. Combine Pectin and Strawberry Mixture: Add the boiling pectin mixture to the strawberry mixture, and stir for 1-2 minutes until well combined.
  4. Add a Citrus Kick: Stir in the lemon juice to enhance the natural flavor.
  5. Jar It Up: Pour the jam mixture into freezer-safe containers, leaving space at the top for expansion.
  6. Set the Jam: Allow the jam to sit at room temperature for 24 hours to set, then store it in the freezer.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are ripe for the best flavor. If the pectin doesn’t dissolve completely, continue stirring to avoid lumps. Leave space at the top of jars when freezing.
